Response to: What Do Women Want? by Kim Addonizio

I like this poem because the voice that I hear when I read it is one that doesn't care what anyone thinks, and seems to go as far as defying those around her to get some sort of reaction while wearing her red dress. The red dress is giving her power, the "body to carry me into this world" to do anything she ever wanted I think she can do these things because when she is in the red dress, she is no longer herself and therefore has no inhibition. I think the first image (given) interprets the poem in a more vulnerable sense, however I see her as a more defiant and confident woman, in the dress. The second image depicts my view.
